What is Patient Access?
Patient Access is a service provided by EMIS (our clinical system) that allows you to access your practice online. Patient Access includes a number of optional features, including:
- Checking your medication and ordering repeat medication.
- Updating your contact information, including mobile phone number and email address.
- Sending messages to your practice, so avoiding the need for a phone call for routine enquiries.
How do I register for Patient Access?
There are three ways of registering to use Patient Access, all of which are accessible here https://patient.emisaccess.co.uk (click the "Register" button)
1. Register via the NHS App
You can register for on-line services via the NHS App. Full instructions can be found by clicking here.
2. Register without a letter
You can also register for the service online without a letter. This process will check to see if your practice uses Patient Access and create a basic account that allows you to book an appointment. View full instructions here. Please note however that the option to book an appointment has been suspended during the Covid-19 emergency. Instead you will need to complete an eConsult form, which you can access via the link on our Home Page or via the eConsult website.
3. Register with a letter
This option results in full access to the complete features that your practice offers. You will need to visit in person and take ID with you to register for this level of access. Request a registration letter and PIN number from your surgery. Once you have the letter, you can then enter the details from the letter into the registration form. This will enable you to set up a full account. View full instructions here.
